Israel released 30 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of the 10 hostages handed over by Hamas

When the cessation of fighting was extended yesterday, it was agreed to release a total of ten hostages. In addition, Hamas will hand over the bodies of the three deceased hostages.

The Israeli army reported that Hamas released the ten agreed upon hostages. In return, thirty Palestinian prisoners will be released.

This afternoon, Hamas handed over two women to the Red Cross. It’s about 40-year-old Amit Sosana and 21-year-old Mia Shim. Six more hostages were released around 10 p.m., and the two Russian-Israeli hostages who were released yesterday were also included in the number of hostages to be released.

Al Jazeera distributed a video clip of the moment the two women were handed over to the Red Cross on the social media platform X. The two have now returned safely to Israeli territory. Photos of the reunion between Mia Scheme and her mother are also circulating on X.

The Israeli hostages also included three people with dual citizenship: an Uruguayan, a Mexican, and a Russian. This was reported by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is mediating in the conflict.
