celebritiesKelly Clarkson never wanted to get married. This is what the 41-year-old American singer says in People magazine. She was married to Brandon Blackstock for about seven years before they decided to divorce.
“I never wanted to get married at first,” says the “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer, who has a daughter, River Rose, 9, and a son, Remington Alexander, 7, with Blackstock. He also has daughter Savannah (21) and son Seth (17) with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.
“Brandon had kids and a religious background and I think that was important to him. But I've never been that type before.” Clarkson, who filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020, says she had seen several divorces in her family and was therefore not looking forward to it immediately. “It can happen, it doesn't have to happen.”
To go on a date
The singer also reveals that she does not like her love life. “Dating sucks. It's so hard. I was single until I was 30 and I forgot how good I was at it.”
Clarkson knows what she's looking for in the end. “I told my friend that my future partner should be someone who has his own life, without needing anything from me,” she says. “I feel really good at the moment, I'm having a good time.”
