Obedient dogThe final chapter illustrates the exploits of Nathan Drake, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s EndIt has been downloaded and managed by more than 37 million people as revealed by the developer.
It’s been five years since one of the PS4’s biggest successes was released; Uncharted 4. To celebrate the half-decade of one of the greatest PlayStation games of the last generation, developer Naughty Dog published Your Blog Retrospective We looked back at the game and shared some behind-the-scenes notes from the production.
One of the most striking factual facts in the article reveals that the game has been tested by more than 37 million players around the world – which is not a bad thing for a platform-exclusive game.
“We are honored to welcome Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End from you, the community, the fans and the players,” said Dina Bakir of Naughty Dog on the Blog. “By 2021, more than 37 million singles will download and experience the ultimate Nathan Drake adventure.”
Impressive, isn’t it? It should be noted that not all of these players explicitly purchased the game; Uncharted 4 came to PS Plus in April of last year, and the title is also available as part of the PS Plus collection.
Regardless of the sales numbers, these stats show great reach – with the PlayStation 4 having sold over 110 million units, we can estimate that nearly a third of all PS4 owners have played Uncharted 4. That’s a good degree of stickiness.
The game’s launch path wasn’t easy. It has survived more than a few delays and even lost some copies due to theft, but it is well worth the trouble if there is something to stand up to the critical reception.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we want to thank the players who have joined us and Nathan Drake on this wild ride. Don’t forget to play with the lemurs! #SicParvisMagna pic.twitter.com/YVlmu36KOz
