Ralte – Four shared cars have been placed in public places of Ralte municipality. This is the first time that shared cars have been installed in public places in Ralte. The vehicles have permanent locations on Lijsterbesstraat, Schapenstraat, De Grutto and at the station. The shared cars are placed by the provider Greenwheels.
“Car sharing is not only a solution for Ralte residents when they need a car, but it also contributes to improving the quality of life in the neighbourhood. The four shared cars will potentially reduce the number of private cars by about sixty cars. This frees up space for green spaces and play areas, for example Example, where there are currently stationary cars,” says Michel Kubin, Director of Greenwheels.
The phenomenon of shared mobility is not entirely new to Raalti. There are some individuals who actually offer their car as a shared car. However, there were no shared cars in public places yet.
Would you also like to use a Greenwheels shared car? Then create an account on the provider's website. Cars can be reserved via a smartphone application. The car is also opened and closed with the same application. All shared cars have a fixed location and have to go there again afterwards.
Greenwheels monitors vehicle usage in the first year after carpooling is installed. If there is enough demand for shared cars, it is possible that the provider could eventually install electric cars and charging stations in Raalte.
