Transport company Pelt Altrea, led by Roel Smets, has ordered at least 75 new Daf trucks from TTL in Houthalen. An important reason for this choice is to save the so-called Maute tax, which can amount to 10,000 euros per vehicle.
Altrea has opted for a major fleet renewal and expansion. Managing Director Roel Smets eventually selected 75 new Daf XGs, which will be delivered this year and in 2024.
The supplier Truck Trading Limburg (TTL) convinced Pelt, among other things, of the preferred “veto values” for this vehicle. “These values are important for the mautkosten tax imposed in Germany,” says Smits. “The new trucks have been equipped in such a way that we now fall within the third category of the maut rate, which amounts to a saving of 1.6 euro cents per kilometre. It was calculated on the basis of the average number of kilometers over the six years that we have been using them” These trucks have been used in If We Stay In this category, we will achieve savings of approximately €10,000 per vehicle. In a competitive business like transportation, this is a huge advantage.”
Altrea notes that the ordered cars will also be equipped with safety upgrades that will only become mandatory in July 2024.
