At Lago Rozebroeken you can take a trip through space or the forest from Wednesday. Hypothetically, this is: You move the slide with the VR glasses on your nose.
Rozebroeken’s (current) red chip can now be done in two ways: “naturally” as before, or with waterproof VR glasses. At the entrance to the slide, you choose an adventure in space, jungle or snowy landscapes.
You no longer see the world around you, but a virtual world appears around you. The curves of the slide match the images in your glasses perfectly, making it look like you’re flying through the stars and planets, for example. In the jungle adventure, you then lead giraffes and elephants, while in the ice world you are chased by a dragon.
“This is really on Lago Sint-Truiden,” says Thomas de Vetter of Lago Rozebroeken. “There’s a big hit. We’ve been working here for some time with lighting and other effects in our slides, but virtual reality is going a step further. It’s also completely safe: the glasses are made of soft material.” You don’t have to pay for the experience, it’s included in your ticket.
