Components manufacturer Turtle Beach is discontinuing its Roccat production line. The company acquired Roccat five years ago, but kept those products as a separate series. Now the company will merge the two brands.
Turtle beach Writes in FAQ It wants to “achieve greater integration across the console, PC, and emulation product family.” “We felt that time and resources were better spent focusing on one brand and creating a suite of products that mattered most to gamers,” the company wrote. In practical terms, this means that Roccat will disappear as a separate brand. The company's products will be launched under the Turtle Beach banner in the future.
Turtle Beach acquired Rockat five years ago. Both companies make accessories for PC gamers. Turtle Beach focuses primarily on headphones and Roccat on mice and keyboards. All the while, Roccat continued to release products within Turtle Beach as a separate brand, ensuring that the brand continued to have a loyal fan base.
According to Turtle Beach, existing Roccat products will remain under warranty if customers still own them. Roccat products will also continue to work with Turtle Beach's Swarm program. This will also happen in the future when Swarm II is released.
