As a security consultant, I work with websites on a daily basis. Of course there are also things to consider, such as whether a session cookie is both length-secure and flag-secure, so that should be a piece of cake for me.
WTF is a bidirectional cookie? That the client on the server sets the cookie or what? Meaningless, it breaks the entire HTTP client-server model. The article only mentions that it should be possible to “send data from modern websites, via cookies, to older websites but not the other way around”. Are third-party cookies blocked less frequently or how? Or is it a newer SameSite feature? It must be a legacy thing so I should have known about it for a long time.
