Because Vandrum is not only the first countryman to win the prestigious junior championship this century. In October, she also won the European Championship in her age group, something that Justine Henin was unable to achieve at the time.

For now, Vandrumé can only dream of the 51st place in the WTA rankings that preceded her. The family itself mainly wants to keep its feet on Bruges soil. Vandrum hits her balls at the Royal Tennis Club of Bruges (KTCB) and has only been training at the top sports center in Wilrijk since the summer.

Her parents shield Vandrum from social media to avoid pressure and are always traveling to her daughter’s tournaments. All this in order to instantly crush personally excessively high expectations.
