A vast green water land, where are we heading with our space?

A vast green water land, where are we heading with our space?

Waterland residents love their neighborhood. It is unique simply because of the alternation between peat meadows and reclaimed land, a true cultural landscape. It saves space and views. The meeting will discuss how waterland landscapes have evolved in recent decades and what they are likely to look like in the future. What do we want to preserve and what should we do or not do to achieve this?

These questions can be difficult, but they are fun and good to think about together. However, people can look forward to four great speakers: Tommy Wieringa, Berno Strootmann, Inga Thissel and Nils Spanz. The evening will be led by Robert Zall.

Tommy Wieringa

Tommy Wieringa is the acclaimed writer of novels such as Joe Speedboat, These Are Names, Saint Rita and Nirwana, which were recently published. He won a large number of literary awards for his novels. He is an observer of our times and writes columns, a number of which have been collected into Reflections on Our Times.

Berno Strootman

Berno Strootmann is a landscape architect and former government advisor. In collaboration with other government consultants, he outlines the future perspective of spatial planning for the Netherlands in Nederland Panorama. It calls for a new deal for farmers and society. Strootman also worked on a future perspective for Laag-Holland.

Inga Tessel

Inga Tessel grew up in Waterland and inherited her love of nature from her father. She was a forester in Staatsbosbeheer and is now asked by many organizations to share her knowledge and conduct research. Inga is SBW Trekking's frequent nature guide.
