Movie“Eternals,” a Marvel movie starring 46-year-old Angelina Jolie in the title role, is off to a particularly good start in the United States. During the pre-show, the superhero movie grossed around $2.6 million (€2.2 million) in a single day. In doing so, it beats out the other Marvel movies released this year.
The movie, which will introduce a lot of new superheroes, did 86% better than Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ($1.4 million) and 30% better than Black Widow ($2 million). The American movie series reports the largest number of pre-sold tickets in a year.
The movie “Eternals” follows the ancient alien team of Celestials who have secretly lived on Earth for 7,000 years but must unite to protect the world from evil perverts. It stars Angelina Jolie (“Lara Croft”), Richard Madden (“Bodyguard”), Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”), and Gemma Chan (“Crazy Rich Asians”).
The film was directed by Chloe Chow, 39, who won Best Picture at the 2020 Academy Awards for Nomadland.
