Forspoken’s new trailer gives a lot of info

At the Game Awards, Square Enix revealed a whole bunch of new information about Forspoken, formerly Project Athia. We’ve seen more magical parkour options, get to know the villain in this story and more.

More important, however, was the release date, which is May 24, 2022. The game will then come to PC and PlayStation 5, with two years of console exclusivity. So those who swear by the Microsoft platform will have to be patient for a while.

It was also revealed during the show that Forspoken villain Tanta Prav will be played by Paulina Macintosh. You might know her as Jadis in The Walking Dead, Ælfgifu in Vikings: Valhalla or Bella in Dante’s Inferno in 2011. She will be opposing Ella Balinska, who breathes life into Free Holland. “Playing Tanta Prav has been fantastic and I look forward to it as players meet and experience it as Frey does: a ruthless, unforgiving force surrounded by puzzles,” Macintosh says. For the players who travel with Frey, go to the land of Athia, he will prove to be a ruthless opponent.”

In Forspoken, Frye is taken against her will to Athena, a mysterious world saddled with fracture. This swamp destroys everything it comes into contact with, but for some reason Frey seems to be immune to it. This gives hope to some, but to others it is a sign of more bad things to come. Breakzombies and Jabberwock are just some of the creatures that call Break home and see Frey fighting in this trailer.

With this reveal, the Forspoken Deluxe Digital Edition has also been revealed, and is now available for pre-order. This includes a Rare Resoure Kit (PS5 only), a mini art book, a mini soundtrack, and a DLC that serves as a prequel. Those who pre-order this and don’t buy it until release will also get No Limits Cloak, Symbol Combo Necklace, Trigger Happy Nails, Crafting Starter Kit DLC on PS5 or Elite Cloak, Spectra Combo Necklace, and Overclock Nails on PC. You’ll also get these rewards if you book the regular version.
