The Homey smart home platform adds a new way to control smart lighting. Using so-called moods, the color of the lighting can be adjusted depending on the current situation or mood.
Users can do this via the application itself New moods Which are basically presets. Users can select which colors to use and which bulbs the settings apply to. There are also pre-configured options for users to choose from.
Moods can be started via the app or voice assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, but also through Flow. Users can choose to automatically activate a certain mood from a certain time, when someone comes home, when a button is pressed or based on a sensor. In addition, it is possible to start flowing when the mood is activated. For example, if a mood called Movie Night is initiated, the flow can ensure that the curtains are closed and the TV is on.
The new feature is available on the free and paid version of the Homey service and on Homey Pro (early 2023) from Homey Pro v11.0 and the Homey v8.2 app. Anyone who purchased Homey Pro between 2016 and 2019 can get Moods later this year with a one-off payment of €10.
