Samsung S21 FE is a youthful Galaxy smartphone

As time went on, more and more details about Samsung’s new Fan Edition became known. Seven weeks ago, graphic designer Giuseppe Spinelli had already designed a series of product offerings for LetsGoDigital, to support the future design of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Imagine.

Based on all the information that has become available since then, Dutch graphic designer Jermaine Smet, also known as Concept builder, Which is an updated model designed from the Samsung S21 Fan Edition.

Samsung has made a number of notable changes this year to be able to market the S series at a cheaper rate. The points where the Galaxy S21 deteriorated is the Full HD + flat screen and the plastic casing. One by one the features we also saw with the S20 FE. So the question is what difference Samsung will make this year between the cheaper S21 and the cheaper S21 FE. Logically, the new model will again be equipped with a Full HD + display and a plastic back panel.

It appears that Samsung will make some changes to the design of the Samsung S21 FE, compared to last year. Although the camera system on other S-Class models has been given a fresh, modern design, the triple camera system on the cheaper FE model looks less luxurious. As a result, this smartphone looks a little less controversial than the other S21 models, but costs could be saved.

The camera unit is given the same color as the housing and the flash is placed outside the camera unit. Thanks to these changes, enough difference will still be visible between the 2020 and 2021 models. The center aperture selfie camera will likely be retained.

With the release of the Fan Edition, Samsung wants to attract the young, so last year the S20 FE was released in no fewer than 6 shimmering colors. So you can assume that Samsung will also offer different color options for the new model. Previous rumors indicate that in addition to the green, purple and pink model, there will also be a white and gray model of the S21 Fan Edition.

Another point where the design appears to be different from last year is the SIM placement. The sim should in all likelihood be inserted into the bottom of the device, in line with other S21 models. Just like other S-series models, the Samsung S21 FE will also be equipped with an IP68 rating, which makes the device dust and water resistant.

The display resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels will likely remain the same.

Since Samsung targets youth with the Fan Edition, extra attention will also be given to the selfie camera. Although the S21 and S21 + both have a slender 10MP front camera, the S21 FE will likely have a 32MP selfie camera – just like last year.

So far, there is no known information about the camera’s resolution on the back. It certainly isn’t unreasonable for the camera system to remain the same as last year. The S20 Fan Edition is equipped with a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera, and an 8MP phone camera with 3x optical zoom.

Like the other 2021 S-series smartphones, the new Fan Edition will also be powered by the Exynos 2100 chipset. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 will be deployed in some parts of the world. The new 5G phone is expected to come with 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage.

It remains unknown if the memory can be expanded. With other S21 models, Samsung has chosen to stop creating a microSD memory card compartment. This change can also be implemented in the FE model.

We don’t expect any major changes in battery space and fast charging. The Galaxy S20 FE has a 4,500mAh non-removable battery and supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. If the S21 FE’s battery capacity remains the same, the overall battery life will likely improve slightly, as it’s a slightly smaller screen.

Samsung may not include a charger or earplugs in the sales package. While the new A-Series models were like A52 en A72, It still came with a charger, which does not apply to the latest S-series models. So it’s plausible that the S21 FE could also be supplied without a charger.

Samsung S21 Fan Edition price and availability

Samsung is expected to release both 4G and 5G models for the new Fan Edition. There is no specific information yet about the price. Based on the pricing of other S21 models, you can assume the S21 FE won’t in any way become too expensive.

Last year, the S20 FE got a starting price of 650 euros (4G / 128GB) and 750 euros (5G / 128GB). A big difference from the S20, which was sold for at least 250 euros at an expensive price. However, the new model, the S21, is 150 euros cheaper than its predecessor at launch time. Samsung will likely see an opportunity to market the new Fan Edition slightly cheaper, even though the S20 FE was already very competitively priced. Therefore, we do not expect that the same discount of 150 euros can be offered, but perhaps Samsung can get another discount of 50 euros, which could go up to the suggested retail price of 600 euros (4G / 128 GB) and 700 euros (5G / 128 GB) ).

Samsung is expected to host the Galaxy Unpacked Summer event in August, at which time the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition will be officially announced. Pre-order sales will likely start immediately after the official introduction, with the device going on sale later that month.
