MediaTek shows off Dimensity 9300+ SoC that can control LLMs on smartphones – PC – News

MediaTek has announced the new Dimensity 9300+ SoC. The model is intended for high-end smartphones, but is essentially an upgrade of the current 9300 model. The new model mainly has a faster Cortex core and is partly intended to enable local AI.

MediaTek says the NPU has support for a range of popular books, including Google’s Gemini Nano and Meta’s Llama 2 and 3. The soc is the first from MediaTek to be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process.

The biggest change in the 9300+ compared to the Dimensity 9300 released at the end of last year is that the model has a faster core. The Cortex

Other specifications remain largely the same. The SoC has three Cortex X4 cores clocked at 2.85GHz and four Cortex A720 cores clocked at 2GHz. Furthermore, there is the same A790 APU and the same memory in the SoC. The IGPU is still the same as the Immortalis G720 MP12, but unlike the 9300 and in line with the 9200, the new Dimensity can shoot 8K video at 30fps.

The Dimensity 9300+ is expected to be available for the first time on the Vivo X100, which will be released later this month. The SoC should also be included in the new iQOO devices.
