In ‘Het Journaal’ Flemish Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) was asked if major events like Pukkelpop could be held now that numbers had soared rapidly. Gambon said that despite the increasing numbers, there are enough guarantees for the festival to take place from August 19-22. According to him, access to the festival is well organized. For example, visitors must be able to submit a negative test or prove that they meet vaccination requirements.
Gambon says he is concerned about the rapid rise in infection numbers, but says there is still a week before the advisory committee to Belgium’s various governments makes a decision. For now, the Flemish prime minister thinks Pukkelpop is safe enough.
